Taken off the case, he goes undercover to continue his investigation. Infatuated, he places Jessica under surveillance to get close. Too close. Someone should tell him to stop chasing a dream, or could end up as the serial killer’s next target.

This is a mixture of Whodunit Mystery and Police Procedural with a Twist of Psychological thriller.Detective Jason Stone is assigned a case where nothing is as it first seems. As the investigation continues, the questions, suspects, and body count grows. As if that wasn't enough, Detective Stone is on the outs with his boss and partner. Will that help or hinder his quest for the truth?
I enjoyed that the story was told from different vantage points. Some were the detective's perspective. Other were from potential suspects that may or may not be central to the investigation. Nothing is clear until the last page. Even then I had to re-read it to make sure I saw it correctly.

I enjoyed this book a lot but had trouble keeping track of all the characters. It was very different and kept my interest especially towards the end.
The characters were good and interesting. There were several twists to the story but over all very average mystery. Quick read and not bad.
Well written and a good story line. Twists and turns kept me interested and I didn't want to stop reading. I had hoped for a better ending for our heroes but just like life we don't always get the ending we were hoping for. Enjoyable reading.
I found it riveting and hard to put down, the plot exciting as can be and the characters interesting and designed and described to keep you guessing. All in all, it was a very satisfying read.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but he could easily become a favorite. The book grabs your interest from the beginning and holds it right up to the end. Until the last pages of the book you really don't know who the killer is and you find out your best guess is wrong. Very well written mystery.
This book is one of the best I have read lately. All the twists and turns really kept you coming back for more. The ending wasn't what I expected, and I'm not sure I liked it. But if there are (or were) books with Jason Stone, I guess it had to be.
It's a good story. Characters are very interesting and keeps you guessing who is behind the mystery until the very end. It was fun to follow the story through the eyes of different people as the story unfolds. Was confused at first, but keep with it and enjoyed the book. Some graphic scenes about the murders going on but not so much so that it turned me off to stop reading. Hope you enjoy!
