This is the first book from this author. She has done a superb job at being writing this book. It is in a world of Fantasy. Not only does she make the Heroine delicate, but she is also a force. She has such power and emotions. The Hero is a perfect offset to her. Strong, understanding, and always there to be at her side in need or not.

The people in the book were so well done. The story line was good, and plot even better. For a first timer she has a great start to a wonderful career. This book draws you in and keeps you interested. It is part mystery, deceit, action, traitors. You begin with a sign of how well she writes right off. You can be pulled in to the heartache and want to cry next to the Heroines side. Then comes the Hero, oh yes I would want him as my savior too.

New author writes well and keeps you wanting for more.

Very compelling story told with great detail bringing to life the stirring story of love, hate, revenge. A fantasy world populated by various peoples and creatures. Ms. Magee weaves a brilliant tapestry of Laurel and her beloved Caleb. Reminds me somewhat of Mercedes Lackley. Well worth you time.
Oh, MT - your first book and you've knocked it clear out of the park! Your descriptions of both Gwenlais and Heathwin were so vivid that I could see the castles and little villages, the forests, the meadows, the "river camp", the skies and so much more, so clearly! The people as well as the Rabkins, the Scimitars, and the Keedesh were all so perfectly described that I could see them perfectly! The love between the handsome Prince Caleb and his beautiful "sweet girl" Princess Laural needs no further explanation, they were truly meant for each other! Caleb took such adoringly sweet care of Laurel through all of her ordeals, he's my hero. lol The wedding - oh the wedding was spectacular, I felt as though I was there! I adore Aiden and Owain and so many of the other characters. They all feel like family to me, which makes me royalty if only for a time. The horrible creatures that want to hurt Laurel and take over the lands have mad me so mad I was simmering, I can't wait until they meet with what is coming to them!! I cried for dear Tully for what she had endured for her Princess. I did not expect the 'cliff-hanger', oh my that was something!! I so loved this book that I will reread it before the next book comes out so I can go right into where it had left off.
You are an amazing author MT and I am "not so" patiently waiting for the next book int his series!! lol
This is the 1st book & debut novel of MT Magee, which just astonished me, since I would consider this some of the finest fantasy to come out in years.
She magically transports you to a world of marvelous creatures,Prince & Princesses.A world of intrigue, mystery, betrayal & love. I was spellbound.
Her characters, both main, Princess Laurel & Prince Caleb & secondary were so complex & so beautifully written, that their emotions became mine...I felt every betrayal, sorrow & love that they did.This book truely speaks to the heart...I consider this an absolute "must-read", but be warned, it's a cliffhanger.
Hurry up Spring, I'm ready to continue my adventure.Thank you Ms.Magee...your one of a rare breed, not just a writer but a master storytellers, a Bard of old .
This is an amazing story of Laurel and Caleb who find themselves not only fighting for peace for their kingdoms but are also fighting for their love. Ms Magee has created a world of fantasy that stirs the imagination. With characters that are well developed you can feel the love, sorrow, and humor in each of them. If you want a story with adventure, sacrifice, and love you must get this amazing book. It is the first in a series and it won't disappoint!
In an attempt to put it briefly, “The Treasure of Gwenlais” is an absolute must-read.
Being a fan of the romance genre, I couldn’t help but admire the relationship between hero and heroine and I think it is a great addition to the book that adds a whole other level of depth toward the overall structure of the plot.

In regard to themes throughout the book that are distinctive of the fantasy genre, M.T. Magee has pulled off a wide variety of elements unique to the fantasy genre in an excellent manner; “The Treasure of Gwenlais” does not lack at all when it comes to imaginative scenes, lands, and kingdoms, as well as creative races with accompanying original cultures to compliment them. All of this is expressed with an impressive writing style to match that I’m sure has the potential to satisfy even the most critical readers out there.
MT Magee’s very first book is wonderful. She writes a fantasy that the reader wants to be a part of. Her heroine is very complex and has many intriguing faucets. Not only is she a princess who must do whatever she can for her people and her land but she is also a healer, one that must learn her ability and use it wisely. The author writes her heroine with so much detail that the reader can peel back each of her layers and truly get to know the woman inside. The hero is just as interesting and evolved. He helps the Heroine Princess Laurel to learn and grow from a spoiled girl to a kind and strong woman. Together they must fight for their love as well as their kingdoms. They must battle evil doers and protect what is most important to them both.
MT’s background and secondary characters are just as detailed as the main characters. The magic of the story is one I haven’t experienced in a long time. It is a perfect mix of fantasy and romance that keeps you turning the page for more and more adventure. Every aspect of this story is written perfectly, from the characters, to the plot line; from the first page to the very last. I cannot wait till the second book comes out.
