The Katres' Summer The SoulLinked Saga Book 3 edition by Laura Jo Phillips Romance eBooks Reviews
Awesome series, absolutely loved it, drama, sizzling hot sex and amazing storyline, I highly recommend this series.
I really liked this series of books. I found the men to be great loving Alpha men and the women strong in their own way. Wonderful story line and background. Love how they are Soul linked and it is more a physiological way of life than a sexual preference for them. Interesting, Enjoyable read. Loved all the books in this series.
This book brings in a female character previously introduced in this series as a selfish, self obsessive, nasty piece of work. However, in this book we see what a year as a sex slave can do to the most unlikeable characters and how they can then overcome their previously well earned bad press. Menage love story with a twist. Fairly well written, enjoyably light and keeps the interest.
I liked the other books in the series, but I did not like this book at all. If you are expecting a romance like the other books had, then this is not the book. This story has the main character Summer captured and subjected to mind control and continuous exercise (for some reason). Obviously she is rescued and then hopefully love follows. That is not the case, after rescue she immediately gets in the "Kick Butt" mode and wants to immediately go and find the remaining women who are captured. We never are told what went on during her capture. She never expresses to anybody the horror of what she went thru. Never allowed the brothers to comfort her. She just immediately turns into this fighting person and is ready to go forth and find the remaining captured women. The three brothers are at first weary of Summer, who is their mate. The book jumps back and forth between Summer and the villan, and it isn't until 50% of the before the brothers finally start to talk to Summer and then immediately have sex. The brothers are not even fleshed out in the book. The only brother that is really allowed to talk is Maxim. We don't even get to know the brothers at all. This is the one book in her series that I really hated the characters. I realize that the next book is going to wrap up some of the open ended story line in this book, but I felt that the author wanted to throw 14 different stories in one book which in turn omitted the actual story of us getting to know the brothers and heroine. Just the thought of having to read this book over again makes me shiver I really did not enjoy this book at all. I feel cheated.
I really enjoyed this book. It was more action packed than the first two. There is even more intrigue and excitement here. Previous male-sets and their Arimas return; it's always fun to find out how things are going with previous characters.
The build up to the next book is done so well I'm dying to get started on it.
There is less focus on the relationship; but it's there. The Katres don't care much for Summer, their Arima (chosen) in the beginning. Summer, isn't too keen on them either. She has one focus, and that is to free the other female slaves. She has a special gift that will aid in her quest; along with her men of course. She also does the unspeakable. In her quest, she brings along an enemy to the Jasani people from book two. I couldn't imagine how it was going to turn out but the author wrote it very well; to the point I forgave Darleen Flowers for her treacherous involvement in the second book. I don't want to give away what she did, but it was down right awful!
After the Katres and their Arima started to get to know each other, the relationship went fast but was believable. There wasn't as much "naked dancing" as in the first two books but there was so much else going on, there wasn't time.
I enjoyed reading the action scenes. I could picture the scenes vividly in my minds eye. The bad guys were, oh-so-bad. There are some revalations made, some light shed, and new unanswered questions.
I look forward to the Bearenca's story next. They were in Books One and Two so it'll be good for them to finally find their mate!
I absolutely LOVE all of Laura Jo Phillips books and have re-read them many times. I find that her books and the overall storyline of the thousand worlds brings me a sense of peace in this crazy world we live in. We are immersed into a world desperately trying to keep themselves afloat after years of trials and tribulations. Three identical brothers search for the one woman who can unite their soul together and finally bring them the true peace and love they are meant to have. I found myself crying, laughing and immersing myself into this beautiful world. Thank you for such beautiful works of art Mrs. Phillips and for bringing all of us such happiness with your amazing stories.
